  • What is ETIAS?

    ETIAS (European Travel Information and Authorization System) is an electronic travel permit application system that is requisite for non-EU citizens- including US and UK citizens- to visit the EU for any amount of time. It requires an application to be filled out, submitted, and approved prior to traveling, beginning in 2026.

  • How does applying for ETIAS work? How long is it good for?

    You’ll fill out the form and pay the fee, and we will submit the form on your behalf to the proper authorities. We keep you informed and up to date on the progress of your application, and monitor its progress through the system for you. Once approved, your ETIAS will be attached electronically to your passport and is valid for 3 years at a time!   • For whom is ETIAS necessary?

    If you are from a country that is not in the European Union and are between the ages of 18 and 70, you will need to apply for ETIAS before getting on a plane to Europe.

  • Are there any countries in Europe that don’t require ETIAS?

    Ireland is the only country in the EU that does not currently require an ETIAS approval for entrance. Please note that Northern Ireland requires ETA approval.

  • What if I have residency in an ETIAS required country?

    Residents of EU countries do not need to fill out the ETIAS form for inter-EU travel. Please note that this does not include the United Kingdom, which will require ETA approval for all EU citizens starting 5 March 2025.

  • How long before I travel do I need ETIAS approval?

    Each application is unique, but the ETIAS recommends submitting the application as soon as possible, once your travel plans are made.

  • Is ETIAS a physical visa, passport or form?

    No, ETIAS status is attached electronically to your passport. You’ll never have to provide physical ETIAS forms at any point in your travels.

  • I am traveling abroad to destinations within the UK and within mainland Europe from abroad. What applications are required?

    If you are traveling abroad from any non-EU, non-UK country and plan on having a stop in the United Kingdom and an EU country, you will need to apply for and be approved by both ETIAS and ETA.
